I managed to get in some indoor speed work: 8 miles at a steady pace. I did 3 miles for warm-up, followed by a total workout of 4 miles, and then a 1-mile cool down. It’s always great to find alternative ways to get your speed work in when the weather doesn’t cooperate! Happy running week! Remember, it’s important to keep challenging yourself and pushing your limits. Have fun and stay safe. Enjoy the journey, and don’t forget to take care of yourself. You never know what you can achieve until you try. Enjoy the run! ... See MoreSee Less

Cold and Snow Weather Alert: Tips to Stay Active Indoors! As cold and snowy weather heads our way, it will be unsafe to run outside. But don’t worry! You can still stay active indoors. Here are some great tips to keep moving:1. Cross-Training: - Mix up your training routine by incorporating activities like cycling or swimming (if you have access to a pool). This helps prevent burnout and reduces the risk of injury.2. Strength Training: - Use weights, resistance bands, or your body weight for strength exercises. Focus on different muscle groups to stay balanced and strong.3. Treadmill Running: - If you have a treadmill at home or access to one, it’s a great way to maintain your running routine safely indoors.4. Elliptical Machine: - Using an elliptical can provide a great cardio workout without the impact on your joints, making it a fantastic alternative to outdoor running.5. Yoga: - Engage in yoga sessions for flexibility, balance, and relaxation. It can also aid in recovery and stress relief during these chilly days.Stay safe, warm, and happy running indoors! Your fitness doesn’t have to take a hit just because of the weather! ... See MoreSee Less

While some may choose to brave the cold and go for a run on the first weekend of January 2025, I prefer to stay indoors and focus on cross training and strength training. I believe that building my strength will ultimately enhance my overall fitness and improve my running performance. Cross training not only helps to prevent injuries but also provides a well rounded approach to fitness, enhancing my endurance and power. Strength training equips me with the ability to tackle those challenging runs with more vigor! Nevertheless, I wish everyone an enjoyable first weekend of January, whether you’re out tackling the brisk air or hitting the weights at home. Let's all keep pushing forward toward our fitness goals, no matter our chosen path! Here’s to a strong and successful start to the year! ... See MoreSee Less
